Fast power pack
We are presenting the Quattrospeed block for the first time at the bauma 2013 fair, which is used in construction machinery, among others.
The special feature
is that the hydraulic control block can switch and operate simultaneously several cylinders coupled in parallel. If a low load is suspended from the excavator boom, the system switches over to "speed motion" fully automatically. In normal operation, the two lift cylinders are operational, and the third cylinder operates in "short circuit". If a high load presses on the excavator arm, the system switches over to "power stroke", and the third cylinder is added.
This provides the excavator operators with a number of advantages:
Primarily, this system produces an almost even progression of lifting power during the lifting process. In addition, there is a higher lifting power in the near range. This saves time and costs whilst laying pipes, for example, and it is important in particular during material handling and in sewer line construction. The Quattrospeed block controls volume flows of up to 1,100 l/min.; it has the dimensions of 225 x 250 x 370 mm, and can be integrated into a wide variety of construction machines. A long-term test in an excavator in summer 2012 revealed that the control system guarantees maximum lifting power at a high operating speed.
